TEACH FOR INDIA PUTS STUDENT LEADERSHIP ON THE FOREFRONT!
In this new academic year, Maya is spreading its magic to all of Teach for India’s 7 cities. As Bangalore joins the spread, numbers within each city have increased as well. With 2-4 Program Managers (PM) taking up Maya per city (as compared to 1-2 PMs last year), its impact is set to rise nation-wide.
The year began with all national Maya PMs coming together in a 3 day On-boarding Retreat at FLAME University in Pune. It was a space created to connect with one another, to learn and to be inspired. The retreat was encapsulated by the rigorous discussions around student leadership, the interactions with young leaders, the plans for the upcoming year and learning from Maya 1.0 and 2.0. Ambitious ideas were put forward as collaborations across cities were initiated. The PMs have submitted their visions for projects in their cities and are now receiving feedback from the relevant stakeholders. The projects are expected to kick off in July 2016.
